This is a Giclee print of my original mixed media painting/drawing named “Orange Cat”.
This painting is my impression of the funny, goofy and loving nature of cats. Orange Cat is a creation of my imagination. I like creating abstract because I can let my imagination come alive. I feel free when I create abstract artwork. Cats are interesting creatures, they can be friendly, playful and loving but with most cats it is on their terms. I owned a cat named Tigger, his unique personality made me appreciate cats. Before him I was not much of a cat person. He was with my husband and I since he was a little guy of about 4 weeks old. Unfortunately he died when he was about 7 years old. He was very affectionate and always liked to be around us. He was a lap cat and always comforted us when we were not feeling well. He would let us hold him anyway we wanted to. He was a really great cat. He was a long haired gray cat. So creating this painting was my take on how I perceive cats. They are cute, funny and loving. I love flowers, plants and the color green so I wanted to incorporate those into my cat painting. I used acrylic paint on the cat and leaves, the background and black around the leave are marker and pen and ink.
